No workers under the age of 15 are permitted, with remediation in place for any violations, ensuring full compliance with ILO Convention 138 standards

Forced Labour

Zero tolerance for forced, prison, or debt bondage labour, with strict restrictions on the retention of identity papers or deposits by employers

Health & Safety

A safe and healthy work environment is maintained through regular training, threat detection systems, injury prevention measures, and access to clean water and sanitation

Freedom of Association

Workers' rights to form and join trade unions and bargain collectively are fully respected, with parallel mechanisms provided where law restricts these freedoms

Non-Discrimination

No discrimination of any kind based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, or political affiliation, with a strict zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment

Discipline

A dignified workplace free from corporal punishment, verbal abuse, and any form of mental or physical coercion

Working Hours

Working hours comply with applicable law, capped at 48 hours per week with at least one rest day, and voluntary overtime not exceeding 12 hours per week

Compensation

Wages meet legal and industry standards, sufficient to cover workers' and their families' basic needs, with no disciplinary deductions permitted

Management Systems

Certification requires full integration of SA 8000 standards into organisational management systems and practices, going beyond mere compliance
